Summer is in full swing, and this month as been pretty amazing for me: at the start of it, Portugal claimed their second Nations League Title to become recordholders. Then, just a couple of days ago, Rank 1 and Be Yourself Music announced a new sweet piece of vinyl coming our way. It's a re-issue of Airwave to celebrate its 25-year anniversary! And to top things off, just a few days ago, Benno revealed that the April work in progress has seen a significant synthical update... Man, I feel like I know what July's Tune Of The Month is gonna be...! :D
But eh, I'm digressing. June's selection has some very catchy, summery, SICK tunes waiting for you. First we lock our sights (or uh, ears) on this amazing unreleased EP from Piet Bervoets & Benno de Goeij as Palooka. This whitelabel was called "Growing Together" and this year finally saw uploads for it appear on Youtube. It's been my discovery of this month and has worked its way up as one of my fave oldskool Piet & Benno tracks (heck, this release is so magical, I should write a whole review for it)! But there is so much more:
Ferry Corsten and T78 with Roberto Molinaro deliver the biggest Tech bangers for me this round with "Lose Myself" and "Bombacid" respectively. The former has FINALLY been released after Ferry teasing it in his sets for well over 18 months. Then we've got the bouncy Rozie-supported "Unbelievable" by Peran & B.O.B. Ltd.: without doubt my highlight at ASOT Festival in the AHOY. Next up we've got Enigma State in with a piece of divine Trance, backed by a proper Breaks pre-lude, both taken from his new artist album Off The Essence (go check it out!). Solarstone also released a new album recently (called innermost) and "sonata" is an absolute melancholic oldskool-inspired gem, instant Top 30 entry for me! Armin and BLR FINALLY decided to team up after two decades to craft the addicting Classical rework of Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 (aptly titled) "Bach To The Future". Next to that I've got some tasty tunes for you by the likes of Johan Gielen/Airscape, Leon Bolier (under his own name), MRPHLNDR, Artento Divini, YOTTO, Something Good and more!
The play button is waiting for you. ;)
