2025 has started with a BANG! I felt January's Razormane Selects packed some heavy-hitters but February has seen some tremendous releases by the usual suspects! Massive tracks have been released over the past month.
For instance: the Driftwood - "Freeloader"-esque millenial-euphoric masterpiece "The Whip" by Ben Gold and SUPERSTRINGS! Ferry Corsten & Ruben de Ronde FINALLY released their massively popular collab from last year, which they dubbed "New Inner Way", named after De Nieuwe Binnenweg in Rotterdam where Dutch Trance pioneers would often meet in the recordstore as they hunted the next big tune for their sets! Markus Schulz is back with a cracker called "Enter The Portal", as are Super8 & Tab with "XX" (anyone else reminded of their Classic "Elektra" here??) and Craig Connelly has released an absolute stunner of an EP under his CIRCA96 guise, "Perfect Moment / Here 4 U". This one takes me right back to 2006! Speaking of 2006... Leon Bolier is another veteran who has been on fire in recent years under both his Bolier and BLR guises. "Today (BLR Extended Mix)" sees his signature sound wrapped in dark techy goodness for those proper deep sessions...
Or what about The Thrillseekers' laidback reimagining of the Albion (=Ferry Corsten!) Classic "Air"? Or Dennis Sheperd & LK's Chicane-styled "Resonance"? Then Armin van Buuren & Ben Hemsley teamed up to deliver a big Theme song for the 2025 cycle of ASOT Festival events: "Is It Beautiful" feat. Lucy Pullin carries the ASOT Anthem Torch proudly after the massive "Destination" and electric "REFLEXION" before it.
And as if all of that wasn't enough, the GOAT Rank 1 has returned with a brand new no-nonsense, Straight-To-The-Point (WINK ;)), SHREDDER of a new single: "Strobo" is available in two distinct flavors, the original throwing us back to the heyday of the mighty duo's timeless Classic "L.E.D. There Be Light", with just a sprinkle of their even older classic "Ssst, Listen" under their Jonah alias; meanwhile the Deeper Dub Mix is built on a thumping Acid engine and goes full peak-hour haywire on your speakers, a proper DUB like that they used to effortlessly slap around in the Golden Days!! To top it off, Estiva, Dan Stone, HI-LO, Kasablanca, Daniel Wanrooy, Rafael Osmo, Protoculture, Jerry Spoon, Cody Williams and Sam Paganini are all represented with a variety of beautiful, catchy, groovy, banging and deep tunes.
